We are an early-stage startup on a mission to transform the fight against cancer through innovation in robotic endoscopy. Our proprietary technology addresses a critical unmet clinical need: early detection of pancreatic cancer, which remains one of the most difficult to diagnose at an early stage. By improving precision, safety, and accessibility in endoscopic procedures, we aim to empower healthcare providers with the tools they need to detect disease earlier, save lives, and reduce healthcare costs.
Position Overview
As we continue to advance our technology, critical to our success is a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who will be pivotal in defining and driving our R&D and innovation strategy, while remaining actively hands-on. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of medical robotics and lead the development of game-changing medical devices.
Your role
- R&D Leadership: Define, develop, and execute the company’s research and development strategy for robotic endoscopy technology and product pipeline, ensuring alignment with clinical objectives, budgetary constraints, and project timelines.
- Intellectual Property (IP) Management: Oversee the creation, protection, and management of the company’s IP portfolio to ensure competitive advantage and freedom to operate.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and manage a robust quality assurance system to comply with regulatory standards, ensuring the safety and efficacy of the product.
- Team Building & Resource Management: Lead the selection, coordination, and supervision of technical resources, including internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors, to achieve R&D milestones.
- Regulatory Strategy: Collaborate with regulatory affairs to develop and execute a regulatory strategy that ensures timely approval of devices in key markets (US, EU, etc.).
- Operational & Fundraising Support: Provide technical leadership in fundraising efforts and serve as a key point of contact for the Board of Directors (BOD) regarding technological progress and development.
- Team Growth: Build and manage a high-performance technical team to drive product innovation and development at scale.
You would report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with the executive leadership team and Board of Directors.
Your profile
- 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles within the medical device industry, with a strong emphasis on launching innovative products in US and/or European markets.
- Proven experience leading the development and commercialization of med-tech devices, preferably in the fields of robotics, AI, medical imaging, ultrasound, or endoscopy.
- Deep understanding of regulatory environments (FDA, CE marking) and experience with quality management systems (ISO 13485).
- A strong background in intellectual property strategy and management.
- Motivated by entrepreneurship and the fast-paced, high-impact environment of an early-stage startup.
